| Priority Club Rewards won three coveted first-place honors at the prestigious 15th Annual Freddie Awards held April 24, 2003, in Colorado Springs. Readers of InsideFlyer magazine selected InterContinental Hotels Group's loyalty program as the Best Hotel Newsletter (Americas), Best Hotel Newsletter (International), and Best Hotel Web Site (International). Overall, Priority Club Rewards took home top three in 11 of 16 possible hotel frequent guest awards.
A total of 232,480 ballots were cast this year by frequent travelers from around the world via on-line ballots. Freddie Award voters belong to an average of nine loyalty programs.
The Freddie Awards -- named after Sir Freddie Laker in honor of his accomplishments in marketing travel during the 1970s -- have evolved into a popular method for frequent travelers to voice their opinions about frequent travel programs. Randy Petersen, editor and publisher of InsideFlyer and creator of the Freddie Awards, calls them the frequent traveler's answer to the Oscar, Emmy and Grammy Awards.
